Heading up the Metauro Valley, along the Flaminian Way, we find ourselves following an ancient pilgrim route. The first stopping place is the Camaldolese Hermitage of Monte Giove. This is still a centre of religious activity and philosophical study and attracts not only monks but also lay intellectuals at national and international level.
