The ruins of old Smrdan Town are located above Klek – well preserved walls of what was probably a Venetian fortress, which served for controlling the entrance into the Bay of Neum. Its waste interior contains the church of St Mary. Above the ruin on the steep peak, there is a belvedere of the fort Gradina from the pre-Roman period, protected by three concentric dry walls, overlooking Ston, Pelješac peninsula, the Neretva mouth and Narona. In the vicinity of Smrdan Grad there is a large necropolis with stećaks (grave stones).
