The memory of the famous early Medieval period of history in the area of the Neretva river is preserved by the monumental sculpture of Duke Domagoj and his Archers, one of the largest of this kind in Europe. The most vicious Croatian prince, as the Venetians called him, ruled the littoral Croatia in the 9th century. The sculpture is situated on the hill of the village Vid near Metković, offering a view of the ornithological reserves “Orepak”, “Pod gredom” and “Prud”.
