The Cavariega dewatering pump, located in the municipality of Vighizzolo, was built between the late ’20s and early’ 30s as a pivotal work of the waters reorganization of a huge area of lower Padua. The two Franco Tosi’s diesel engines are a classic for this type of system, and as almost always happens, they arrived to the present day still fully functional. The water management performed by this system, despite its small size, is still a key point of the delicate balance between town and country, between agriculture and industry.
