The Archaeological Museum Narona is the first in situ museum in Croatia, which represents a unique and unavoidable destination for all fans of culture, history, art and archaeology. It was built next to the former Narona forum and it covered the remains of the Augusteum, a temple dedicated to the worshiped Augustus, constructed in the 10 year B.C.
The museum exhibits a magnificent group of excellently made sculptures which represent Julio-Claudian and Flavian imperial dynasty, with plenty of other artefacts demonstrating the significance and richness of this, second in size and importance, Roman city on eastern Adriatic coast.
