The Marsh Onara originates from cold resurgence springs that flow from the ground. The water comes from groundwater, through sand and gravel carried by ancient glaciers (Wurm Glaciation), and goes back to the impermeable clay carried by rivers and by erosions. It is a rare environment where resurgence pools maintained cold microclimates (the water never exceeds 14 degrees), which are the refuge of a particular type of relict flora, thrusted into this place by past glacial cycles, especially since the recent Dyras last glacial phase, started 20,000 years ago and ended about 8,000 years ago, more or less when the man from hunter became a farmer.
All the flowers of Marsh Onara are protected and may not be harvested. Among the birds found in the park you can meet the Grey heron, the kingfisher, the Owl, the Little Grebe, the Little Egret, the Owl, the Moorhen Water, the warbler.
