In the region of Thesprotia, the visitor can be sure we will enjoy good quality fish but also affordable, because Thesprotia is famous for the production of fish in fish farms.
During the last 30 years fish farms are one of the greatest sources of wealth of Thesprotia. Specifically in the area between Igoumenitsa and Sagiada, there are 27 operating fish farms, a fish hatchery, and a pre-growing unit. The main species of fish kept at the stations is the sea bream and sea bass, while secondarily farmed sea bream, Sharpsnout bream, sea bream and meager.
The production area of ​​the stations covers 12-15% of the annual Greek production, while the largest proportion of the fish is distributed abroad.
