The Abbey, fist of the Augustinian order, was then entrusted to the Camaldolesi who continued the work of land reclamation, expanded facilities’ Abbey providing it with four cloisters, built the library and a real Academy of Studies. The Abbey then became the most important center of spiritual and temporal power in Veneto region.
From the period in which it was owned by Carminati family just remain the beautiful villa (now rectory) whose floor is decorated with frescoes and carvings. A part of the old monastery is dedicated to the Country Civilization Museum.
