St. Jesus Curch

Crkva sv. Josipa erected on Marijin dvor in 1940 according to the design of Karel Pařik reveals neo-Romanesque style with walls made in white stone from Herzegovina. Simplified structure with each element articulating symmetry and balance is in perfect symbiosis with the surrounding area. This is Pařik’s last master piece of architecture and the square in front of the church bares his name. The church itself a museum and richly decorated marble altar given as gift from Pope Pius XII. Stained-glass kept in the church are real objets d’art but were unfortunately severely damaged during the 1992-1995 war.
