Ali-pasha mosque The mosque was built by Hadim Ali-pasha, the governor of the Budapest administrative district (budimski begler-beg) in 1560. It was designed in reference to classic Istanbul mosques and reveals a serenely beautiful building simplified to one comprehensive shape. The porch carried by four stone columns and three smaller domes continue into the central part under the large dome.
